Youth Team Leader

About the role:

The main focus of the Youth Team Leader is to coordinate activities for youth and young adults and will support the transition of young adults into full membership of the church and service.

We are looking for someone who can grow, engage and motivate teams of volunteers to deliver a high-quality programme of activities. This isn’t a standard hands on role although there will be aspects of the delivery that will be managed by the role holder.

This role will also suit someone who is interested in working towards gaining accreditation as a Baptist Minister subject to the usual service requirements. We recognise that the successful candidate may have development needs and so we are committed to helping the right candidate both thrive in this role and also develop their career to the next level.

Main responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring good quality youth work on a Sunday morning, and leading other events and activities
• Developing and building a leadership team and volunteers for the youth work.
• Ensuring a programme of events for youth outside Sunday services including an outreach strategy
• Taking a lead on youth pastoral support and cultivating the soil for growth of youth as missional disciples, including building genuine and authentic relationships with the youth, working alongside parents where appropriate.
• Developing integration of youth into the main church, including enabling them to lead adults as appropriate.
• Development and day to day management of media, promotion, and online communication.
• To support the leadership as appropriate in pastoral and administrative activities.
• Taking the Youth away for activities and Conferences.
• Following and implementing the church’s safeguarding policies and practices.
• Build relationships with Partner agencies to help reach local Youth for Jesus.
• Be a regular attendee and worshiper at WRBC.
• Attend any National Regional Baptist Union Events commensurate with the role.
