Gateway Christian Church is formed from two churches called by God to do a ‘new thing’ (Isaiah 43:18-19a) in East Hampden Park, an area of Eastbourne high on the Index of Multiple Deprivation. They combined, selling, or demolishing, their own buildings to create The Gateway Centre, which opened in February 2016. Our name, ‘Gateway’, comes from Genesis 28:17b, “What an awesome place this is! It is none other than the house of God, the very gateway to heaven!”
We aim to be a multi-generational church where people of all ages find a home. We have a vision to bless our community by demonstrating God's love to all people and by sharing our hope in Jesus Christ with our generation.
Our vision is to connect with, and positively impact, our needy community and be a place of safety, healing, wholeness and hope, where peoples’ encounter with God’s love will transform lives and relationships; a true house of God and Gateway to heaven.
