Church and Community Engagement Leader

Latchford Baptist Church is in an exciting season of its development.  In recent years, the church has taken significant steps in becoming more outwardly focused, developing several new ministries and investing in improvements to the community areas of the church building, in order that we connect more with local people.  Our Minister will retire in June and, rather than seek to appoint a new Minister, the church has decided to further develop its community focus by appointing a Church and Community Engagement Leader.

This role is full-time and the role holder’s primary emphasis will be the church’s engagement with its local community – building on the existing outward leaning ministries and developing new work. They would also lead and inspire the congregation with a vision for growth and outreach, as well as contribute as part of a Sunday worship team.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about service, have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to exercise spiritual leadership, and demonstrate a deep commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others. This position is designed for someone who is both a compassionate listener and a proactive organiser, ensuring the church is a welcoming, supportive, and active presence in the community.

We’d love it if you had prior experience in community outreach work, in church ministry and / or in coordinating events.  If you’ve managed teams of people (employees or volunteers), even better!
