Facilities Officer

Tyndale House Cambridge

Are you an experienced Facilities Officer or would you like to develop a career in this field? If so, we would be very interested to hear from you. This is an integral, rewarding role within a warm-hearted and growing charity.

Tyndale House is a renowned institute for biblical studies and possesses one of the finest libraries for biblical research in the world. It aims to grow an international research community, to present the value of the Bible at the highest academic level, to resource the Church to understand and trust the Bible, and to promote informed attitudes to the Bible.

The Facilities Officer will contribute to the work of Tyndale House by co-ordinating the maintenance and facilities function and the operation, security and cleanliness of the site. He/She will have day-to-day oversight of the work of Tyndale House’s cleaning, maintenance and grounds maintenance functions and will work with contractors to ensure that the site and facilities are maintained to a high standard. The Facilities Officer will also be required to take day-to-day responsibility for health and safety including fire safety, the creation and co-ordination of risk assessments and staff inductions.

Our existing site includes a 60-desk library, a suite of offices, several meeting spaces, landscaped gardens and various living quarters. However, in September this year work will begin on a substantial building project, which will see the creation of a much larger, state-of-the-art library as well as improved accommodation facilities. The role holder will support in the coordination of this project, including acting as an on-site contact, and will be involved in the set-up and management of a temporary library facility.

The ideal candidate will be highly organised, proactive and keen to develop their knowledge and understanding. He/she will be a dedicated problem-solver and will have the ability to work well as part of a team.

If you feel this position fits your skills, personality and/or experience, and playing a role in fulfilling the purpose of Tyndale House appeals to you, then we would love to hear from you.
