Kids Church Pre-School Lead

The Kids Pre-school lead supports the delivery of a safe, welcoming, fun, and engaging environment for pre-school school age children during Sunday services. This role includes both the preparation and direct care of children, ensuring they have a positive, nurturing, and spiritually enriching experience in alignment with SOUL Church’s values.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Prepare Sunday service materials, activities, and environments suitable for pre-school school age children under the direction of the Kids Pastor
• Welcome children and families, creating a friendly and safe atmosphere
• Supervise and care for children during services, always ensuring their safety and wellbeing
• Support the Kids Pastor in delivering age-appropriate teaching and activities
• Encourage positive behaviour, participation, and interaction among children
• Oversee set-up and tidy-up of classrooms, play areas, and materials before and after services
• Maintain awareness of and compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures
• Liaise with parents or guardians as needed, providing updates or guidance regarding children’s participation
• Support volunteer teams in delivering activities and care, fostering teamwork and collaboration

Skills and Attributes

• A caring and patient attitude with a genuine love for working with children
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, adaptable to both children and adults
• Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from the Kids Pastor
• Organised, reliable, and conscientious in preparation and execution of tasks

Pastoral Care and Safeguarding

• Provide pastoral care to children and families
• Follow all safeguarding requirements, ensuring policies are upheld
• Maintain a safe, welcoming environment where every child is valued and protected
