Who We Are

SU Scotland is a national charity, with around 100 staff and over 2,000 volunteers. Our vision is to see every child and young person of Scotland exploring the Bible and responding to the significance of Jesus.

We currently have a vacancy for a Schools Liaison, based at Lendrick Muir near Kinross, our largest residential centre. Lendrick Muir is a stunning mansion house set in 120 acres of land, offering accommodation for groups of up to 165 and a broad range of outdoor activities. During term time we run school residentials, offering outdoor learning experiences to school pupils from all over Scotland. At weekends and during school holidays we host SU groups, youth groups, church groups and SU Holidays.

Purpose

Reporting to the Assistant Schools Manager, the Schools Liaison will play a key role in our Schools team. School residential programmes are designed in partnership with schools, to support their delivery of the Curriculum for Excellence through outdoor learning. We offer a range of outdoor activities, mostly on-site, and day excursions to Edinburgh and Glasgow.

This role will involve creating a safe and welcoming environment for school groups, through excellent customer service and working alongside school groups whilst on residentials and activity days.

Who are we looking for?

Applicants for this post should have some previous experience working or volunteering with young people and have a demonstrated interest in outdoor activities.

For this post, it is important that you are committed to SU Scotland’s ethos, working principles and vision and are able to demonstrate this through your commitment and motivation. It is also an Occupational Requirement (Equality Act - part 1, schedule 9), that the post-holder is a committed Christian.

The successful applicant will be required to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Scheme and the appointment will be subject to a satisfactory PVG Scheme Disclosure.
