Job Overview

You will be responsible for providing essential administrative support to the Operations Manager and ministries of the Beacon Church.  As Operations Assistant your role will be to provide efficient and effective administration across a wide variety of operations. This position requires an exceptional degree of professionalism and the ability to work in an ever changing environment, where multi-tasking, sound decision making, self-motivation and discretion are essential. This is part time role of 30 hours per week, open to job share.

Responsibilities and Duties:

This will include (but is not limited to)

  • Facilitate effective communication within the church community through newsletters, bulletins and other communication channels
  • Manage day-to-day administrative operations, ensuring smooth functioning of the church office
  • Assist with administration of all Beacon events as required (Carols, Commission Festival, Outreach events etc.)
  • Create weekly service plan and ensure all materials (slides, videos, flyers etc.) are ready in time for Sunday service
  • Support the kids team with administrative and practical support e.g. maintaining records & preparing for Sunday mornings, photocopying/printing, buying supplies
  • Operate the church information management system, ChurchSuite – maintaining up to date information, assist with the management and building of team rotas, manage all records relating to baptism, attendance etc. , maintenance of workflows specifically the safer recruitment work flow
  • Provide administrative and practical support (preparing materials, info packs, forms, venue booking etc. ) for courses and other activities (meetings, training sessions)
  • Provide administrative support to safeguarding team including management of databases, processing relevant paperwork etc.
  • Supporting the Operations Manager to develop efficient and organized systems within the team that would enhance working practice

 

Qualifications

Essential:

  • A strong Christian faith
  • A commitment to the vision of The Beacon Church Camberley
  • Active Member or become an active member of the Beacon Church sharing the vision and upholding its teaching and public stance in both personal and professional life
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Experience working in an office environment and working to deadlines
  • Strong written and visual communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Organised, efficient and be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Broad competence in IT, including Microsoft Office
  • Flexible, keen and can-do attitude
  • A strong commitment to organizational effectiveness

 

 

Desirable:

  • Experience of producing graphic design work
  • Experience of using social media and web-based communications platforms
