ChristianJobs are committed to providing churches and organisations access to professional resources and training, in order that organisations can serve their employees and volunteers in order to reach their full potential. Each year we partner with Christian experts, to host training events focusing on issues that affect Christian organisations and churches.

For our first training event of 2019, we will be looking at mental health in the workplace. The care of staff and volunteers mental health within a working team is something that will affect all organisations and churches during different seasons. Almost 1 in 6 of people of working age have a diagnosable mental health condition, and in 2014/2015, 9.9 million days were lost to work related stress, depression or anxiety (Mind and Soul Foundation). It is important that we take time to consider how to respond in these circumstances.

Over the last month, ChristianJobs have been researching with experts within the field of Mental Health, in order to put together a training event, addressing Mental Health within the workplace.

On the 19th February, Christian Jobs will host a full day training event, made up of two sessions.

In the morning session, Sue Monckton-Rickett, the Chair of the Association of Christian Counsellors, will be sharing from her over 25 years of experience. Sue is an experienced trainer for counselling and pastoral care, and a conference speaker at events such as Spring Harvest. Sue will be covering a basic understanding of all the main mental health conditions, focusing on stress, depression and burnout. The session will endeavour to explore these conditions from a Christian perspective.

Nicci Birley, Director of Cornerstone Resources Ltd, has over 20 years of expert HR experience and will leading the afternoon session. Nicci is passionate about de-stigmatising mental health and will be looking at what the law states, good practices to introduce to the workplace as well as the challenges that can be faced.

This event is intended to be an intimate and valuable training so we will allow ample opportunity to voice specific questions and discuss any experiences and concerns with the session leaders. All attendees will also receive complimentary books and resources, worth £20.

Tickets cost £50+VAT and can be purchased here. ChristianJobs members have access to one free ticket.

Limited space will be provided for all attendees to advertise some literature on the organisation or church they represent.

Event will take place in Manchester on the 19th February. For any queries, please contact heather.chiles@christianjobs.co.uk
