Who we are
Safe Families and Home for Good is a Christian, community-based charity that seeks to see children and families thrive. Safe Families empowers local volunteers, predominately from the church, to engage with those most at need. We exist to create relationship and connection, offering support, hope and belonging to improve the lives of those in our communities, because everyone deserves to belong. Working hand-in-hand with Children’s Services and local authorities, we link children, young people and families with local volunteers who can offer help and support. Working with a large volunteer base Safe Families assists families in crisis by offering remote support, respite care to children and befriending to struggling parents and carers.
Role Overview
This is a key staff role for us as we focus on our goal of achieving a culture that consistently reflects our values and where staff and the organisation flourish. You will be part of the People and Culture team that oversee our people and culture through human resources, health and safety, policies, principles and procedures and general administration. You’ll be part of the core national team of Safe Families and Home for Good, serving across the whole staff team.
You will work the wider People and Culture Team to oversee the administration associated with HR which includes, but is not limited to, management of absence, changes in contract and staff leaving. This will include working with the regional staff teams to ensure all documentation is collected and maintained; and that all staff are empowered to use and update the relevant systems. You’ll be able to answer queries from regional teams on these aspects but don’t need to be an expert, the expert advice comes from external consultants with whom the People and Culture Manager and Head of People and Culture will hold relationships.
The role will be ideally suited to someone able to work independently who enjoys enabling others to thrive by providing a supportive resource. You’ll need tenacity to ensure that all aspects are completed, even when it might not be others’ top priority.
If you are interested in this role then we would love to hear from you!
