Quebec Hall seeks new General Manager

Quebec Hall Limited is an established charitable Christian residential facility for older people, consisting of a 22-bed care home and a complex of 43 independent living bungalows. The Trustees are recruiting a General Manager.

Quebec Hall is situated on the outskirts of East Dereham in mid-Norfolk. It caters for both men and women, including married couples.

It is essential that the General Manager is a committed Christian. He or she will be expected to provide effective leadership, governance and management.

In partnership with the Care Manager and Deputy, it will be the successful candidate’s responsibility to sustain and promote the reputation of Quebec Hall; to help ensure the delivery of high-quality holistic care; and to help create a caring environment and facility that meets the needs of each individual resident.

Applicants must be hardworking and self-motivated, team players with a positive attitude, keen to be involved in helping develop the service and with a passion for supporting people to enjoy life to the full.

The role requires a high level of interaction and communication with residents, staff and visitors; strong communication and interpersonal skills are vital. The successful candidate must provide a service based on respect, prompt response and politeness at all times.

The new General Manager will be flexible in their working days and hours, which may change from week to week depending on the needs of the business and team. This will necessitate working some weekends, evenings and nights as required, particularly with regard to on-call responsibilities.

The successful candidate will be employed by, and accountable to, the Trustees

The General Manager will be expected to have the following aims and objectives:

  • To help ensure service that the Trust gives exceeds all regulatory and company standards.
  • To help demonstrate a high level of enthusiasm, passion and determination to achieve and deliver the highest quality person-centred care.
  • To help ensure staff members achieve the highest standards with an eye for detail to ensure that the Trust’s aims and objectives are achieved and to ensure that each resident receives care and support appropriate to their individual needs.
  • To help ensure successful operation of quality control systems and risk management processes, including audits and checks.
  • To help ensure that there is good communication and effective team building amongst all staff. Regular team meetings will be held.
  • To support and motivate the management team to exceed CQC Standards, Key Lines of Enquiry and upcoming Quality Statements and Norfolk County council PAMMS inspections.
  • To demonstrate a sound understanding of best practice in management.
  • To support the recruitment and appointment of staff and ensure that they are given every opportunity to excel through appropriate training and development.
  • To actively participate in the growth and development of the business.
  • To oversee and carry out all that is required to manage the finances of Quebec Hall Ltd and to maintain overall responsibility for the upkeep of the Quebec Hall complex.
  • To demonstrate a hands-on commitment by being a significant and active participant in the on-call rota team.
  • To oversee spiritual matters; events, website, newsletters and programmes for Quebec Hall.
