Location: Caton, Lancashire
Salary: £14–£15 per hour (depending on experience)
Hours: Part-time (24-30 hours per week), with the possibility of full-time for the right candidate
Contract: Initially a three-year fixed-term post, with potential for extension
Start Date: October 2025 (negotiable)

Caton Baptist Church is a warm and welcoming evangelical fellowship in the heart of the Lune Valley. We are passionate about sharing the love of Jesus Christ and nurturing faith across all generations, with a particular heart for children and their families.
The Role
We are looking for a gifted and enthusiastic Children and Families Worker to lead and develop our ministry among children (aged 0–11) and their families. This is a key role in the life of our church, involving:
- Sunday Ministry: Planning and delivering engaging, Bible-based teaching for children in Sunday School during Sunday services.
- Midweek Activities: Leading groups such as toddlers, after-school clubs, etc.
- Community Outreach: Working with our Minister in local schools and community groups to extend our ministry beyond the church walls.
- Volunteer Support: Equipping and supporting a team of volunteers involved in children’s work.
- Family Engagement: Supporting families pastorally and encouraging faith to be nurtured at home as well as in church.
The Person
Essential:
- A committed Christian with a living faith in Jesus Christ, in full agreement with the beliefs and ethos of Caton Baptist Church.
- Experience of working with children and families in a church or community context.
- Good organisational and leadership skills.
- Strong communication and relational abilities.
- A self-starter who is motivated and imaginative in their approach to ministry.
Desirable:
- A relevant qualification in children’s work, education, ministry or a related field.
- Knowledge and experience of safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Experience of working with and developing teams of volunteers.
- Current UK Driving License
