Location: Bridge Community Church, Leeds

Hours: 20 hours per week

Salary: £13,478 per annum

Reporting to: Children & Youth Ministry Team Leader

Main Purpose of the Role

Bridge Community Church is a large, multicultural Pentecostal church based in the heart of Leeds, with a weekly congregation of over 1,200 people and a thriving children’s ministry. We’re looking for a passionate and organised KS2 Children’s Leader to oversee and lead our ministry for children aged 8–11 during our Sunday morning services. This is a part-time role (20 hours per week) ideal for someone with experience working with children in a church context who feels called to discipleship and has a heart to see children grow in their faith. You’ll lead a team of volunteers, plan weekly Bible-based sessions, support families, and contribute to wider 0–18s ministry events and planning. You’ll be joining a friendly, committed team, making a real impact in the lives of young people and their families. If you’re creative, faith-filled, and love working with children, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and be present in the KS2 department for at least 3 Sundays a month

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver weekly Bible-based teaching and activities for KS2 children

  • Build strong relationships with children and their families

  • Coordinate a core volunteer team: organise rotas, communicate with teams, encourage and support

  • Maintain safeguarding standards and ensure all volunteers are trained appropriately

  • Manage records for KS2 children and teams using the ChurchSuite database

  • Contribute to wider events (e.g. family fun days, residentials, Holiday Bible Club, Messy Church)

  • Partner with the KS1 leader and KS3 youth leader to ensure smooth transitions and continuity

  • Ensure rooms and equipment are safe, resourced, and ready for use

  • Participate in the Children & Youth Ministry Leadership Team and weekly staff meetings

  • Assist with recruitment, training, and leadership development of volunteers

  • Help create a culture of fun, safety, and discipleship across all KS2 environments
