Are you passionate about making a difference for vulnerable women, the elderly and local community?

Would you like to support a project that aims to help vulnerable women back to independent living and reach the local community through our community cafe?

We have an exciting opportunity to join a team dedicated to achieving just that.

If successful you’ll be the key point of contact in our friendly community cafe, working for the Water Lily Project (WLP) - a local charity that supports and empowers vulnerable women and provides nutritious affordable meals to the local community.

Based in the Water Lily Cafe in Christchurch, working  9:30am-1:30pm Monday-Friday, you’ll be supporting our wonderful team of cafe volunteers, taking a lead in their induction, training, producing great tasting affordable food  and supporting the work of WLP to make the cafe a success. 

About you

As the lead point of contact at the cafe you’ll have excellent catering and hospitality skills and a keen eye for detail when it comes to food presentation. You’ll really understand the value of volunteering, and have experience of supporting and training volunteers. You’ll be able to work under pressure and be self-motivated and enthusiastic. You’ll also have basic administrative skills in Word and Excel in order to log volunteer supervision, food allergies, COSH and other administrative duties.
