The Lodge Trust CIO
For over 32 years The Lodge Trust has been providing Christian support for adults with learning disabilities, enabling them to have access to Christian resources and services as well as to have choice and control over their lives.
The original objectives set by the trustees all those years ago were:
To provide a Christian home for people with learning disabilities;
To provide the residents with training and employment in a manner best suited to their needs;
To enable the residents to care for themselves where this is possible.
Today, they haven't changed.
We are passionate about helping society at large to see that people can choose to have a faith and choose to be supported in developing that faith. Furthermore, local communities and churches can be equipped to help and support people with learning disabilities.
The Lodge Trust supports those who choose a Christian lifestyle. We are a conservative evangelical Christian home, believe the Bible and try to do what it says. Those who choose to live at The Lodge Trust say that they want to live life in this way:
Meeting together every day to pray and to read the Bible. We believe this is really important.
Keeping Sunday special by worshipping God, thinking about Him and doing good things; going to church, and doing shopping and work on other days to honour the Lord’s Day;
Using the Bible to help enjoy our lives and be helpful to others.
The Lodge Trust sees all people as equal and valuable in God’s sight; sees people as individuals; treats people with respect as adults; and includes everyone in everything about their support.
Primary Responsibilities (for full details, read attached Job description)
- To maintain the evangelical Christian ethos of the charity
- To oversee the spiritual life of the charity
- To oversee the smooth running of the Lodge Trust
- To ensure the provision of a high standard of support to all residents
- To ensure the provision of a high standard of support to staff
- To protect, promote and utilise the charity’s assets in order to further the objectives of the charity

To the successful candidate we offer a salary c.£45,000 plus a reasonable relocation package.
This post is subject to an Occupational Requirement that the post holder is a committed evangelical Christian under Part 1 of Schedule 9 to the Equality Act 2010.
