Heartlift is a Christian charity which works to improve the lives of young people and their families. We work with children with SEND needs to offer respite for families and fun activities for the young people on Saturdays and during holiday periods.
We have established great relationships over many years and are looking for someone who can continue with this good work.
This a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a real difference in the community to lead on the work of Heartlift. It provides the opportunity to work closely with the young people, families and professionals to deliver the best outcomes.

£11 per hour (pro-rata)
12 month contract with the possibility of extension
Minimum of 1 day per week based at the Heartlift office in Bolton. (This may increase in the lead up to holiday provision)
Delivering Saturday club on 38 Saturdays per year
Delivery of non term time day sessions for 7 weeks per year (in accordance with Bolton school holidays)
Responsibilities, activities and duties (not exhaustive)
- To work within the grant agreement including budget considerations
- To complete and review risk assessments
- To complete ongoing reviews of service users files to ensure objectives and delivery remains appropriate / suitable
- To complete PEEP assessments
- To carry out safeguarding functions
- To work to Heartlift Safer Recruitment Policy
- To recruit and train volunteers / buddies
- To ensure appropriate staff allocation for delivery of interventions
- To plan purposeful activities
- To deliver and / or supervise SEND sessions
- To be responsible for any medication required and administer in line with Heartlift policies and procedures and completion of relevant paperwork.
- To manage the referral process including home visits
- To work closely with parents and referring agencies
- To work closely with relevant partners
- To organise transport in line with legal requirements and Heartlift policies
- To attend meetings as and when required and complete relevant actions
- To liaise with management and trustees
- To complete required reports
- To be the point of contact for SEND work
- To ensure that suitable resources are available for staff and incorporated into planning sessions
- To input in relation to booking relevant training for staff
- To deliver training
- To manage staff
- To comply with GDPR responsibilities and Data Protection
- To comply with relevant archiving and retention procedures
- To promote innovation and continuous improvement to service delivery
- To demonstrate pro-social modelling skills by reinforcing pro-social behaviour and challenging anti social behaviour
- To work within the aims and values of Heartlift
- To carry out any other tasks commensurate with the role
The job holder is expected to understand that reasonable alterations and additional tasks of a similar level may be necessary.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential -
- Previous history of working in SEND delivery
- Ability to work flexibly.
- Understanding of risk management
- Experience of working under pressure
- Well developed IT skills
- Ability to write in clear and concise language
- Ability to collate, assess and communicate large amounts of information in a clear and concise manner
Desirable -
- Qualifications of 5 GCSE’s of C grade and above
- Qualifications specific to SEND work
- Previous Management experience
