To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have an obvious passion for sharing the Gospel with young people and endless energy to drive activities that reach out and engage young people from all backgrounds. You’ll need to be organised, flexible – changing plans to changing needs around you, and a real team worker, who thrives in collaborative environments.
As Youth Pastor you can expect that every day will be different! You’ll spend your time meeting a wide variety of people across the community, building relationships that will enable young people to have positive interactions with the church. This role will build on the work already taking place, there is so much more that can be done. You’ll need to be skilled in identifying creative solutions and getting things done.
As part of GMC you’ll be supported by the full time Pastor and a group of volunteers who have a passion for youth work in Dunfermline. The hours will be flexible and will involve working weekends and evenings depending on the activities being delivered for young people. It is expected that the Youth Pastor will be involved in Sunday worship. GMC has a small number of young people involved in worship – the opportunity for growth is great!
