Gilead is based on a 200 acre working farm in rural Devon with our growing town of Okehampton just 5 miles away and the city of Exeter 30 miles. Every person who visits says how peaceful and tranquil the atmosphere is. It is an ideal location for our residents to heal and build their lives again. About the Role

This role is for 25 hours a week, supporting vulnerable women who are living in supported accommodation on a farm in Devon. 

You will assist the management team to help our residents enroll on courses, finding work placements, volunteer work and employment. This includes:

  • To oversee all work training at Risdon.
  • To talk to each resident and identify their skills\abilities and  to formulate a progressive plan which may include identifying employment related education and then help each individual to apply for employment as they near the end of their time at Gilead.

  • To adhere to the policies and procedures of Gilead Foundations, with particular regard to confidentiality and data protection.

  • To participate in staff training program’s as required by management.

  • To attend and participate in staff meetings as required by the manager.

  • To provide supervision and support to occupants;

  • To develop positive working relationships with relevant educational bodies and organisations.

  • To preserve the charisma and philosophy of support as promoted by the Charity

  • To maintain a harmonious atmosphere.

Experience & qualifications required:

  • Must have a clear understanding of Christian values.

  • Relevant qualifications & experience

  • Experience & understanding of working with people and their families with a variety of complex needs & issues.

  • Must have own clean driving license
  • An understanding of safeguarding adults

Personal competencies required:

  • Confident & able to work on their own initiative

  • Proficiency with IT applications (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) & social media.

  • Ability to exercise discretion in dealing with confidential or sensitive matters
