Due to significant growth we’re now looking for a colleague to join our committed team and bring with them an excellent level of skills and experience in the area of grant fundraising; we are seeking someone who can efficiently and successfully deliver funding bids on behalf of multiple clients. 

Whilst this opportunity is advertised as a part-time position there is potential for this to become a full-time position for the right person

Key duties:

Identify funding and raise funds on behalf of clients

Understand the projects you support, grasp their situations and the possibilities ahead, support clients to collate all information needed to produce quality funding bids. Identify relevant funders. Raise funds through grant making trusts and foundations.

Take the lead on delivering contracts for multiple clients

Develop good relationships with clients, take responsibility for the delivery of all funding aspects of the contract within the specified timeframe and drawing upon the skills of team members for support.

Provide leadership and management support to clients

Discuss with and contribute to leaders’ understanding of their projects; help identify areas in which the client needs to make improvements in order to become ‘funding ready’.

Provide project development support, such as: impact measurement tools, grant management support and communication to funders

Often back office support is required for the smooth running of grant funded organisations - develop and/or strengthen these systems to facilitate this process.

Team work

You will work as part of a larger team. You will be encouraged to draw on the skills within the team to make your offer to the clients you serve as strong as possible. It will also be your responsibility to offer your key skills to the wider team, mentoring trainees and junior staff to improve funding bids and contribute towards the wider development of Futurekraft.

Qualifications

Qualified to degree level or have considerable relevant experience in fundraising.

Experience

You will be able to demonstrate significant experience and a proven track record of successfully raising funds through trusts and foundations. Ideally you will have secured funds totalling over £1m including both revenue and capital.

Practical Skills

  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills

  • Comprehensive numeracy, literacy and IT skills

  • Understanding of all elements of a strong funding bid and ability to develop accurate budgets for inclusion in funding bids

  • Has up-to-date knowledge of funding trends and landscape

  • Excellent organisational skills, including an ability to prioritise and work on your own, able to work under pressure, manage your own workload and deliver work in a performance-focussed environment

  • Ability to conduct relevant research

  • Ability to work effectively both individually and as a member of a team

  • Clear understanding of the church and charity context

  • Be a quick learner
