Programme Researcher

Could you help us to equip and engage young people and their influencers in exploring big questions of science and religious faith?

The Faraday Institute Youth and Schools Programme are seeking to expand our reach by employing an enthusiastic and creative individual to fill the part-time position of Programme Researcher. The contract will initially be for 18 months, with the goal of extending to 3 years.

Purpose of Job:

To formally assess the effectiveness and impact of the team’s work in helping children and young people engage with big questions of science and religious faith. This research will enhance our contributions to the formal literature and wider discussion regarding science-faith communication, curriculum development, and education policy within the UK and beyond. This role will also enable the team to develop and refine our outputs in order to maximise our impact.

Role Outline:

The Programme Researcher will:

  • quantitatively and qualitatively assess the programme’s impact through surveys and questionnaires at events and online, as well as measures such as sales of materials, feedback from focus groups, reviewers etc.
  • utilise the work of the programme to develop and explore research questions about science, faith and young people
  • benefit from opportunities to work with and learn from associated experts in the field
  • produce a range of outputs including peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters and blog posts or other articles for a general readership
