Children and Families Worker Wath Parish Church
What We Need You To Do
The main responsibilities of the role are:
- To co-ordinate together with the existing team the children, and family’s ministry in the Benefice of Wombwell St Mary enabling children and young people to progress through the various ministries.
- To initiate new ministries to engage with young families from the wider community; recruiting, training, and equipping a team of volunteers to support the work.
- To proactively work with and contribute to the Centenary Project Worker Network.
Who We Are Looking For
It is a genuine requirement that the post-holder should be a communicant member of the Church of England or a full member of a Church within Churches Together in Britain and Ireland.
We need someone who:
- To co-ordinate together with the existing team the children, and family’s ministry in the Benefice of Wombwell St Mary enabling children and young people to progress through the various ministries.
- To initiate new ministries to engage with young families from the wider community; recruiting, training, and equipping a team of volunteers to support the work.
- To attend the termly Centenary Project Doncaster Youth Hub events.
- To proactively work with and contribute to the Centenary Project Worker Network.
- Work with the Rector and volunteers to set up and run a monthly family service style event in the Ellis school.
- To be part of the team delivering an All-Age Café style service at St George’s Jump.
- To develop relationships with local primary schools, delivering assemblies and offering class and church visits, with the help of volunteers.
- Work with the existing team to plan prepare and deliver material for Sunday school. Ο To be part of a team delivering JAM club, an after-school club for primary aged children.
- To be part of a team delivering a 3-day summer Holiday Club
- Identify those with skills and talents relevant to children, youth, and families work, within the congregation, and to nurture and develop these gifts, building on the team of volunteer leaders.
- To comply with relevant safeguarding and health and safety guidelines, including ensuring compliance by other youth leaders and completing appropriate risk assessments.
- To meet monthly with other Youth and Children’s Workers in the Centenary Project network for learning and support.
- To work towards and set achievable objectives and record measured outcomes.
- To undertake such other duties as may reasonably be required commensurate
- with the responsibilities of the post.
