Cornerstone is a small but growing evangelical Christian charity registered as an Independent Fostering and Post Adoption Support Agency. Founded in the North East, with a registered office in Sunderland and a hub office in Doncaster, we have ambitious plans for growth, which include expanding our services in England and a presence in Scotland in the next 3-5 years.
To help us grow we need experienced members of the public to join our Board of Trustees. We need Trustees with the ability to think and act independently when forming judgements and making decisions. We are particularly keen to recruit members of the local community in the Sunderland, Doncaster, Nottingham or Farnham areas, or in the North West of England, who have experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Social Care (in particular with the appropriate qualifications to become an Agency Decision Maker)
- Financial management
- Marketing and PR
- Governance of a nationally based charity
The Board is responsible for setting the strategy and policies of Cornerstone and guides and supports the Chief Executive/Founder and her staff. We meet quarterly (and sometimes in between), at present in Sunderland on Thursday afternoons, but this can be varied, and we are becoming more experienced at meeting remotely.
We are also looking for a qualified person to become our Agency Decision Maker for the Fostering Service, who also needs to be a Trustee. If this particular Trustee role is of interest to you then please view the Job Description attached below.
