As a church we want to appoint a lead person to pastor and oversee the development and discipleship of youth and children in our church and community.
Who are we looking for?
Someone with knowledge, skills and experience of ministry and mission to youth and children within church based and community contexts. The use of digital communications will also be an essential aspect of this post.

PROVISIONAL JOB DESCRIPTION AND PERSON SPECIFICATION
ChristChurch, Wrexham is an evangelical, charismatic, Ichthus-linked Christian congregation utilising contemporary Word-based and Spirit-led worship, expressed through congregation and missional communities.
ChristChurch encompasses a rich and broad spectrum of Christian spiritual traditions. It is characterised by Team Leadership and a deep commitment to work together with other churches. You would be required to show commitment to the ChristChurch vision and agree to the EA statement of faith. Ideally the postholder would take up formal membership at ChristChurch.
To develop and disciple children and youth within the church and community. To achieve this, you will need to work closely with the Senior Church Leader, CCCW Leadership Team, other staff members, Missional Communities and ministry teams.
Work together with the Leadership Team, Senior Church Leader on an ongoing vision for Youth and Children’s work at ChristChurch, and to take the lead responsibly in implementing that vision.
Take the lead responsibility for the development and delivery of regular worship activities for Youth and Children at ChristChurch.
Lead a team of volunteers to plan and deliver effective discipleship for ChristChurch’s Youth and Children.
Reach out to Youth and Children that are not yet connected with or a part of ChristChurch.
Develop links with local Schools, and other church and community youth and children’s groups.
Develop ongoing ecumenical (local, regional and national) links and relationships with other youth and children`s ministers/workers.
Report regularly to the Senior Church Leader and Leadership Team to keep them updated about developments
Attend and provide reports to the ChristChurch Congregational Meetings as required.
May be expected to take up other responsibilities or activities as directed by the Leadership Team.
To an identified supervising Line Manager – for delivering the tasks and activities outlined above.
To Leadership team / Senior Church Leader – for the development of any major proposal related to the work; for regular reviews of the work, 3 monthly at a minimum
To Trustees – that all work undertaken is in accordance with the objects of the Trust and for any contractual issues that arise
To the Congregation - for regular updates on the work
meet regularly with an identified supervising Line Manager
attend Staff Meetings
attend ChristChurch Leadership Meetings as required
This is a Part-Time paid post of 24 hours a week, to be used flexibly in conjunction with your identified supervising Line Manager.
Competitive salary related to experience, qualifications and training.
The post would be for an initial period of three years following a satisfactory 6 month probationary period.
You would be entitled to 3 days (24 hours) paid Personal Development Time per annum.
You would be entitled to 6 weeks (144 hours) annual leave per year plus a proportional bank holiday allowance. Ideally you would only take a maximum of 1 week (24 hours) leave in term time.
Your training needs will be reviewed regularly.
You would be entitled to agreed travel and other work-related expenses This appointment is subject to enhanced DBS clearance.
On request to your supervising Line Manager, pastoral care can be arranged with your supervising Line Manager, or another person if preferred.
Willingness to be involved in the wider life and worship of ChristChurch and its Missional Communities
Church based experience of youth and children’s work
Good interpersonal skills
Flexibility / ability to adapt
Good organisational skills
Ability to work as part of a team and alone
Computer literate – office, email, social media
Experience in digital communications
Willingness to work in and out of standard office hours including weekends
Able to travel between different venues
Willingness to attend Summer Camps
Experience of working within a Christian community/context
Experience in a Missional Community setting
Experience of evangelism – particularly in children, young families and youth settings
Qualifications in youth and children’s work
Evidence of implementing vision/strategy successfully
Experience of working with and/or managing volunteers
