London has many needs. People disagree on what it needs most: more schools and hospitals; less traffic, and improved air quality; more police, and less crime; more affordable housing, and less of a gap between rich and poor. There’s wisdom in all of this, but at London City Mission we believe that, most importantly, London needs Jesus. That’s why we got started in the beginning, and it remains our firm conviction today.

Two-thirds of the world’s population cannot get access to safe surgery when they need it. As a result, 17 million people die every year from conditions requiring surgery. This is higher than the number who die from TB, malaria and HIV/Aids combined. Mercy Ships is working to tackle this crisis. We operate the largest charity-run hospital ship in the world, delivering free, safe medical care to some of the world’s least-developed countries.

The Arab world lies at the heart of the Muslim world. The vast majority have yet to hear the gospel. AWM-Pioneers focuses on people groups who have little opportunity to hear and understand the gospel. With a few exceptions, many major towns and cities still have no Christian presence. Where there is a presence, the Church is often under pressure.

We are a UK-based international charity working to beat leprosy. This disease affects the most vulnerable people in the world, causing life-changing disabilities, but there is a cure.

More than 600 people are diagnosed and start treatment each day, over 50 of these are children.

But, due to fear and lack of knowledge, there are over 3 million people across the world living with undiagnosed leprosy and every day the disease causes more damage to their health, livelihood and future.

There are 12 L'Arche communities across the UK where people with and without learning disabilities live and share in life together.

We believe that people with learning disabilities have much to teach us and contribute to the world. During the last fifty years, we have learnt that one of the best ways to enable this is by creating Communities with a culture of shared lives between people with and without learning disabilities, from which we can work together to build a more human society.
